This is Me.

I’m Colette, part-time photographer with a full-time heart

Documenting what really matters in life.

As your photographer, I capture authentic moments for people like you who want to feel seen and embrace what truly matters in life.

But I’m more than just a photographer. I’m also a mother, a wife, a daughter, a friend, a nurse, a blogger, and so much more.

In other words, much like you, I’m REALLY busy.

For a long time, my overflowing schedule and the pressures to do more, be more, and care more about the things that seemed important at the time, took over my entire life.

But all it takes is one moment, one experience, one breaking point, to recognize that the things consuming your life that feel so important and consequential (like choosing the perfect décor for our living room), aren’t actually as significant as they may seem.

For me, it was a traumatic car accident.

In just a few short seconds, my life was forever changed

What I thought mattered most, suddenly didn’t anymore. How ironic that a near-death experience is what it took to really make me feel alive.

Since then, my priorities have shifted greatly. I realized that it didn’t matter how neatly organized my bookshelves were, or how perfectly aesthetic our living room could be.

What ACTUALLY mattered was my loved ones, our health and well-being, our safety, happiness, and being present—appreciating where we’re at right now, for all that it is.

The same is true for you, too.

You don’t need to wait to lose those extra 5 pounds or for your wrinkle cream to set in to appreciate where you’re at in life. Who you are NOW is everything your people love about you, and that should be celebrated.

I bring those same ideals to my photography experiences for families, fempreneurs, graduating seniors, newborns, and interiors.

The lady behind the name

Inspired by the strength, tenacity, and resilience of my mother (and the queen herself, Elizabeth Taylor), The Lipstick Lens signifies the notion that we are not only capable of overcoming whatever challenges we face, but that we can also come out the other side a stronger person, changed for the better.

“Pour yourself a drink, put some lipstick on, and pull yourself together.”
